President Barack Obama opent 24 april de Hannover Messe 2016. Hij zal samen met de Duitse bondskanselier Angela Merkel aanwezig zijn tijdens de openingsceremonie op zondag. Maandagochtend 25 april doet Obama de traditionele openingstour over de beurs. De Verenigde Staten zijn dit jaar partnerland van de Hannover Messe 2016.

Dat maakten onder meer het Witte Huis en organisator Deutsche Messe vorige week bekend. De Hannover Messe, ’s werelds belangrijkste industriebeurs, vindt dit jaar plaats van 25 tot en met 29 april.

Volgens Jochen Köckler, lid van de Raad van Bestuur van Deutsche Messe, geeft de komst van Barack Obama een duidelijke signaal af over de internationale uitstraling van Hannover Messe 2016. ‘En de timing is perfect; juist nu de VS door haar re-industrialisatie weer een zeer aantrekkelijke zakenpartner wordt voor de industrie. Voor de Duitse machine-industrie en producenten is de VS weer de nummer één markt.’

Tijdens de editie 2016 is de VS voor het eerst partnerland van Hannover Messe. Zo’n 250 bedrijven uit de VS zullen hun oplossingen tonen in Hannover.
