Procesoptimalisation in separation technology

This lecture at the WoTS is about the separation of fluids and solids. Such processes happen in very different places and in many different industries.

The water purification, sewage sludge

• By extracting even more water from sewage sludge, the amount of waste drastically decreases. This results in much lower CO2 emissions, because there are far fewer trucks to drive from the purification to the landfill.

The juice producer

• By extracting even more juice from the flesh, the amount of juice extracted increases and the amount of waste decreases. This results in more revenue and less costs.

The Ferry line

• After the exhaust gases have passed through a scrubber, the mixture of exhaust gases and water is separated in a centrifuge. This important step in the process drastically reduces the amount of waste and the separated water is so clean that it can be discharged into the sea.
